First of all, a BIG thank you to all who have been so supportive over these past few weeks.
We have had a few very emotional weeks. Another seizure took place. Bummer. But lots of thanks to great people at work who took care of me during the episode, and incredible family and friends who took care of me once I got home.
I am still struggling with some of the side effects of the seizure...memory loss, fatigue. But I am confident that the side effects will continue to subside.
On to more exciting news:
Jackson started school last week! It was so exciting to see him thrilled about going back to school. He seems to really like his new teacher, Miss Ovard. We went to an open house before school started and had the chance to meet Miss Ovard. She seems sweet and so excited about teaching. Love it!! Jackson also has a friend from the neighborhood in his class, Tanner Pitcher. Makes it nice to have a little buddy.
He is also taking the bus. The "Puppy" bus. Each of the busses have a little picture so that the kids can recognize which bus is theirs. He was WAY more excited about taking the bus than having mom and dad take him to school. I must confess, once we got him on the bus, we quickly drove over to the school so we could get pictures of him getting off the bus and playing before school started. It is so fun to see him grow. I am so truly grateful for him. Ian and I could not be more blessed.
At the same time, I was saddened to think that Sadie should have been there at school with him. As we frantically followed the Puppy bus, I noticed the "rainbow" bus pulling out of Zac's neighborhood. Quite appropriate, I thought. I am so grateful for the time we had with Sadie. As Jackson continues to grow and cross these milestones, I know Sadie will be there in our thoughts as well.

Hey ya'll
Just thought I would post a quick update.
I appreciate all the phone calls, visits, and meals. You are the best! I did have another seizure on Friday, and fortunately, the people I work with were much better prepared.
It is a scary thing because I can't really remember what happened as I am unconcious for them, but I am fortunate to work with people I trust. My little brother's best buddy sits right next to me, so I know I am in good hands.
My short term memory is still lacking, so I appreciate your patience if I repeat myself or act confused when you refer to previous conversations.
Ian made me stay in bed all weekend. Thank heavens for a fantastic husband who does all he can to keep me well. I am kinda wishing I was still in bed this morning. Most of the soreness is gone, although I do still feel a bit stiff when I walk.
Anyhow, thank you for your prayers and kind words. I will update more once I am a bit more with it.

Love
Last night I had the closest thing I have had to a mental breakdown.
I was tired, blood sugar was running high, we were getting home late, unpleasant visit from a neighbor and the phone would not stop ringing. Just when I thought I could collapse into my bed, something else would happen. We have all had those days (I think) and I couldn't have been more ready for it to end. I didn't get much time to spend with my bunchkin and the dog would not leave me alone.
Remember Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day? I had mine.
There was not really any one thing that made it bad, it was just the relentlessness of the day. I just wanted to find sleep and these little things kept poking at me.
Anyway, after we decided to not answer the phone anymore, I picked up Harry Potter V.7 and tried to read. I couldn't concentrate because my husband was just laying there staring at me.
At first I was annoyed. Then I realized he was staring at me because he was searching for a way to make me feel better. He was trying to analyze what he could do to make things okay.
I had this overwhelming moment. As I looked at those big, doeish, brown eyes I saw that this man loves me. No matter what. Even when I am at my worst. When I am falling apart and a total wreck. When I am self conscious and not very nice. No matter how hard I try to push him away when I am ornery, he is still there. Always.
And my gratitude for him deepened. I don't know how I was so blessed to get this guy, but I am so happy that he is mine forever.

Don't Judge Me
Okay...I have to admit it. I have a fear of Cabela's.
Why, might you ask? I am a big fan of stuff that you can get at Cabela's. Camping gear, guns, fish in big tanks.
What strikes fear into my heart?
All those heads! And stuffed bodies of animals! I know I should go in there and marvel and the beauty of God's creation of those animals, but I can't help but imagining all those animals looking down and judging me.
But, I will face those animals looking down their noses at me for a lifetime in exchange for the gratitude I have for Cabela's.
You see, they have changed my relationship with my lab, Winston, forever. For they have made available to me the glorious technology of the electric fence.
Best invention ever!
Now my dog will not run off on me. He won't leave the yard and we are friends.
Thank you, Cabela's. You saved my life.
And my dog's.
(P.S. Winston will no longer be joining your taxidermic family of beasts. Sorry.)

The 24th of July
I thought I might post some of this once I was able to upload some photos.
But, let's not kid ourselves. I won't post photos. It takes too dang long.
So here we go.
I have always loved Pioneer Day. Call me quaint or folksy or whatever, but I always try to get the day off work so we can have some serious family time. "Serious Family Time" always includes the Days of '47 Parade (we get there at the beginning to see the Police guys with their fake mustaches and stay until it gets too hot.) We then like to finish the day up with fireworks in front of the house. We fill the day in with whatever the heck we feel like.
This year we had a special treat. Our friend Morgan was able to come hang out with us. She had never experienced the 24th of July, so it was fun to have her hang out with us.
The Parade was fantastic as always. I love the law enforcement guys who cruise around on their motorcycles and I always get a little teary eyed when the high school marching bands come by. I know, I am a dork. We had a pretty sweet viewing spot if we were standing, but Jackson was getting a little tired and wanted to sit. A very nice woman invited us to come sit up on the curb with her family, so we ended up having front row seats. It was great! Jack kept wondering why they didn't throw candy. This was the first year I think he really enjoyed the parade. Past years it was just too hot and he didn't care.
After enjoying our fill of Stake sponsored floats and politicians in convertibles, we headed up to Park City to go to Morgan's house for a bit. She lives up an incredible canyon. While we were hanging out there, a moose decided to come get some afternoon refreshment from a pond that was in her backyard. Themoose hung out there for a good 10 minutes or so before retreating back into the woods. Morgan said that the moose comes everyday. How awesome is that? Jack that it was the best thing he had seen all day.
Until she brought the 4 wheelers out.
We went for a little ride around and got a good view of the canyon. It was beautiful. She took us this lookout point where we had fantastic views of the mountains. We were able to even see Timpanogas. It was breathtaking.
Next we were off to meet up with Nonni, Olivia, and Sam for some fun at the Dino museum @ Thanksgiving Point. Jack had a great time hanging out with his cousins and grandma. They all ran around. Sam wasn't too sure of what to think about the dinosaurs. She was a little frightened, but couldn't peel her eyes from them. Olivia and Jack took off together and were inseparable. Those two are such good little buddies. They especially loved the erosion table and digging in the sand to find fossils. Those are always the faves when we go.
Later that night, Nonni and the little gals came on over to our place for our annual 24th of July fireworks spectacular! (Watch out Chase Circle of Fire! We are coming for you!!!) We bought up a schload of fireworks at our local Smith's and Ian had a heyday lighting them all up. Fountains were a favorite as were the poppers. The sparklers? Not so much. Jack and a couple of his boy buddies didn't want a whole lot to do with them once I let them know that throwing them up in the air was not an option. The girls wanted nothing to do with the sparklers.
Then we slept. Hard.
