Hey all,
I just wanted to let you all know about a golf tournament we are going to be having in memory of my niece, Sadie, who passed away last year after a courageous battle with a rare form of brain cancer. She was 6 and we are trying to raise money to help find a cure.
The charity that we are supporting for this research effort is The Cure Starts Now ( http://www.thecurestartsnow.org/ ). 100% of the proceeds raised will be used to fund research for a cure for pediatric brain cancer. The tournament will take place on June 4 @ The Ranches Golf Club in Eagle Mountain. It is a 4 man scramble and the entry fee is $300 per team. Lunch is included. We are incredibly excited about the event and look forward to raising some funds for this fantastic organization.
If you are interested in participating, or know someone who might be, please let me know.
Thank you so much for the support you have offered our family during this time!!!

Day 6
I can't believe I am FINALLY doing this!
For YEARS I have threatened to become a vegetarian. I have had periods where I would not eat red meat, other times where pork was out, sometimes fish was a no-no (why did I never oust chicken? No idea!) Now I have done it.
For nearly a week now, I have been nearly meat free (yes, even the delicious smelling rotisserie chicken that hubby brought home last night) I have had a couple slip ups...mostly because I forgot what I was doing, but all in all I am pretty dang proud that I have stuck to it.
Why, you ask? In the past, there was just a little something inside me that said, "hey...you are NOT eating meat in moderation." Crap! I think the thing that pushed me over the edge this time was a show on PBS that discussed the potential connection between diabetes and meat products. Granted, the show was on at 2:00 in the morning and it felt awfully a lot like an infomercial (even though they weren't selling anything...wierd.)
So there you have it, the same thing that prompted me to buy my Ronco knives also pushed me over the edge to swear off meat.
For at least the next three weeks.
Have you ever done anything crazy at 2:00 in the morning due to something on TV?

Our little man
Jackson is growing up so fast! I don't really realize it until I spend time around smaller kiddos. Last Sunday I spent some time working in the nursery and when Jack came up to give me a hug after church, my heart melted because he was just so big!!
He also decided that he wanted to bear his testimony during Sacrament meeting which was huge. He did a great job and I couldn't have been prouder. He headed up there all by himself and didn't need help at all. It was a very special moment for Ian and me.
