Mama’s Holiday Wish List Meme

TodaysMama and Provo Craft are giving away a sleighful of gifts this holiday season and to enter I’m sharing this meme with you.

They are giving a whole crapload of stuff. And by "crapload" I mean the good kind of crap. I would really LOVE to win because they are giving away a bunch of stuff I was planning on buying and donating to our chapter of Sadie's foundation, The Cure Starts Now. They could really use some of the stuff. But I would probably keep the bike for myself. Seriously, there is a TON of stuff they are giving away.

1. What 5 items are on your holiday wish list this year? I don't think I have 5 items. Maybe a digital SLR, and world peace. Oh, and my basement finished. But mostly world peace. (And to win all this giveaway.)

2. What is your favorite handmade gift you have received? A quilt that my mom made for my 30th birthday. It blew my mind how much time she spent on it and it is absolutely stunning!

3. What handmade gift have you always wanted to tackle? Scrapbooks for the extended family. I love that scrapbooks can provide such a powerful reminder of what it means to be a family. Those photos and stories are the stuff that binds us together.

4. What was the best Christmas gift you received as a child? A Cabbage Patch Kid that I loved until my mom made me throw it away because I threw up on it. Devastating!

5. What items are on your kid’s wish list this year? EVERYTHING! Especially whatever toy is being advertised on TV RIGHT NOW!

6. What is your favorite holiday food? Mmmmm...Almond Roca. And anything with cranberries.

7. What will you be hand-crafting for the holidays? Gifts for family...shhhh...can't give too many details. Some of them might be reading! (yeah, right!)

8. What is your favorite holiday movie? A Christmas Story. Hands down! My hubby has been searching for a leg lamp for years. Here's hoping he never finds one. (The ornament on the tree should suffice, right? Thanks Hallmark!)

9. Favorite holiday song? "Oh Holy Night." Can't beat the classics, especially if Josh Groban is singing them! And maybe "Santa, Baby" too. It makes me laugh. But listening to my son sing "I Want a Hippopotamus For Christmas" at the top of his lungs probably takes the cake.

10. Favorite holiday pastime? Hot chocolate, sledding and hanging out with the family. I take most of my vacation time for work in December. It finishes the year perfectly. Is there anything better than that? I mean, besides world peace?
